The World Rugby Sevens Series, formally known as the HSBC World Rugby Sevens kicks off their second leg in Cape Town on the 12-13 December 2016. After the series opener in Dubai, there is a huge amount of interest from supporters in the Mother City as well as from fans across the world. The Green Point area situated on the Atlantic Seaboard, where the stadium is based is expecting an influx of people from all over and a carnival like atmosphere is expected during that time. Cape Town is looking to establish itself as a must-do date on the World Sevens Series events calendar.
Cape Town has something for everybody and the Sevens event will combine with a summer festival atmosphere showcasing open-air entertainment, beer and food festivals and the natural attractions that the city has to offer.
HSBC will be the title sponsor for the Series for a further four years and in a year that will also see Sevens Rugby making its debut at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games, the Series champion will be crowned in London, where the final tournament is set for May 20-22, 2016.
